Friendly Visitors

Friendly Visitors

Friendly visitors provide companionship and support for homebound older adults with weekly or biweekly visits, either at the client’s home or destinations such as lunch, shopping, or other activities.

Yad B’Yad Companions for Holocaust Survivors

Through our partnership with Jewish Senior Life, friendly visitors provide companionship and support for Holocaust survivors with weekly visits to their home or destination such as lunch, shopping, or other activities.

If you or a loved one would enjoy receiving a friendly visitor, contact us at 248.592.2313 or resourcecenter@jfsdetroit.org.

Hospice Volunteers

In addition, the Jewish Hospice and Chaplaincy Network professionals provide consolation and assistance to chronic and terminally ill clients and their families. They make regular visits (either at the client’s home, hospital or nursing home) to help community members maintain their dignity and enhance their quality of life throughout their remaining days.

For more information, contact the Jewish Hospice and Chaplaincy Network at 248.592.2687 or info@jewishhospice.org.

*The Friendly Visitor program is available only to those individuals or families currently being served by Jewish Family Service. As you may qualify for other services, please contact us at 248.592.2313 or resourcecenter@jfsdetroit.org to see how we may be of assistance.
