Chronic stress is the number one danger to our lives and health. In companies, stress breaks down communication and challenges productivity. Many people teach simple breathing techniques that will stop the negative ravages of stress. The greatest challenge is real life integration. This program provides our trademarked “Breath Brake®” while motivating and providing incentive for management and staff to fully integrate these techniques in a meaningful way.

Rabbi Elimelech Goldberg, lovingly known by thousands of children as Rabbi G., is the founder and director of Kids Kicking Cancer, a nonprofit organization that teaches martial arts to children battling cancer, as well as to those facing other serious challenges in their lives. No one ever said it would be easy and it’s not. Caregiving for older people in our lives forces us to confront our own ageing and the fragility of life. That’s is just one of the many challenges. Together we’ll explore some of the challenges and some of the spiritual and emotional tools that can be helpful.  And that will help us discover the blessings.

“Who wants to talk about grief? Not me, I’m okay!”  This program offers reassurance that responses to loss are as unique as you are, and that it’s okay not to be okay. We will explore the many forms of loss, dispel the myths of mourning, and discuss ways that caregivers can find validation in their own losses, while supporting the grieving persons in their lives. Dr. Golden Moore will share how she learned to co-exist with grief and rediscover life’s possibilities in a presentation that incorporates poetry, musical interludes, and group discussion.

Dr. Micky Golden Moore holds a B.S., M.A. and Ph.D. in Speech Communication, along with an M.S. in Hospice and Palliative Studies. After twenty years as a university instructor, she currently works as a hospital chaplain, at St. Joe’s Mercy Oakland, specializing in Palliative Care – a second career she chose after being on the receiving end of these services just before her dad’s passing. With a desire to give back to the organization that cared for her dad, she established the Volunteer Speaker’s Bureau training program in Public Speaking, for which the Karmanos Cancer Institute named her the Crystal Award Volunteer of the Year. She is the founder and facilitator of Beyond the Paw Print pet loss support group and the author of Tails from Beyond the Paw Print:  Twenty-two stories of love, loss, and lessons learned from our adored animal companions.
