What Have You Done For Your Brain Today?

June 28, 2021

As National Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month comes to a close, I want to share a few thoughts with you. While we live in a society that has a theme for every month, I implore you not to stop focusing on your brain health now that June is almost over, but rather, to use this past month as a starting point for truly living a healthy brain lifestyle.

We’ve used our social media to challenge people by asking, “What have you done for your brain today?” Our goal is to inspire you and remind you that the brain is the only organ in the human body that cannot be transplanted…so let’s take wonderful care of the one we have.

Whether through small changes to diet, a little more exercise, better quality sleep, or using a new stress management technique, the power to age well–and with our cognition in the best shape possible–is in our own hands, within our control and boils down to the myriad of small decisions we make all day, every day.

If you would like more information about living a healthy brain lifestyle, join us for our free Gray Matters monthly workshop series. We can also offer you a thorough workout for your brain…with no workout clothes required! Contact us at 248.788.MIND or MindU@jfsdetroit.org
