I began reading comics at a young age when my grandfather brought some home. Reading comic books became a huge part of my life growing up because it was a way to dive into a different fantasy world when I didn’t have access to video games and a dangerous neighborhood kept me inside. Seeing how these characters would never give up motivated me to try and experience new things I would later learn to love.
Now as an adult, I push younger children that think they hate reading to try picking up a comic. The morals and values I learned at a young age from something as simple as a $3.99 comic book were well worth it.
