JFS
Addiction Recovery Program--
We've been there. We know what
you're going through. We put troubled lives back together.
GETTING
ACQUAINTED: The JFS Addiction Recovery Program philosophy
is based on the belief that chemically dependent individuals and those
with a history of substance abuse can achieve sustained abstinence
from alcohol and other drugs and develop a recovering lifestyle.
The program is licensed by the State of Michigan to provide substance
abuse treatment and prevention services, and serves people of all
races and ethnic backgrounds. Treatment is provided by
appropriately credentialed Master's Level Clinicians who have many
years of experience treating chemical dependency and living "one
day at a time".
OUR
CLIENTS: We are dedicated to healing adults and
adolescents with a diagnosis of chemical dependency, or those who have
begun to experience "warning signs" or problems related to
substance abuse but are not yet dependent on alcohol or drugs.
While substance abuse is not specific to any given culture or
ethnicity, JFS is in a unique position to provide culturally relevant
and sensitive treatment to a number of diverse populations.
Research suggests that the incorporation of ethnic and cultural
components into a substance abuse program can promote healing.
SIGNIFICANT
OTHERS: Professional therapists at JFS also offer help for
spouses, partners, parents and children affected by a loved one with
an addiction to alcohol and/or drugs. Their lives are also impacted by
the addiction.
DUAL
DIAGNOSIS: Many individuals have a substance related
problem as well as a mental/emotional illness. These individuals
are at increased risk and therefore require a more intensive treatment
protocol. They are referred for psychiatric
consultation/medication when necessary, and receive education
regarding the characteristics of their dual disorder. Clients
receive supportive services to manage additional stressors they may
face due to their dual diagnosis.
For people in need of help, JFS provides a safe, confidential,
environment for therapy. In addition to traditional counseling, Jewish
Family Service also hosts JACS (Jewish Alcoholics, Chemically Dependent
Persons & Significant Others) support groups.
