A Continuum of Care for Jewish Older Adults

The ElderLink network of services is designed to provide a linkage to the Jewish community, and support and assistance in a variety of living environments.

ElderLink programs and services are provided by the member agencies of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit.

Home Care Services
Offering personal care, respite care, and homemaker services to allow older adults to remain safe and independent in their own homes.

Escorted Transportation
JFS drivers pick clients up at their door and walk them in to their destination. JFS vehicles are comfortable and wheelchair accessible, and available for medical appointments, shopping and immigration services. Call 248-592-2266.

Community Support Services for Older Adults

Older adults are leading healthier, more active lives than ever before. At Jewish Family Services, older adults are empowered to gain control of their lives and, at the same time, maintain their independence. We offer a variety of services aimed at increasing the quality of life, and maintaining independence, dignity, and self-esteem.

Counseling
Individual, family, and group counseling is available for depression, grief and loss, family relationships, retirement, and other life changes.

Assessments & Evaluations
An individualized plan of care is developed based on a comprehensive evaluation. Our gerontology-trained social workers are experts at assessing the appropriate living situations.

Financial Counseling
Assistance with applying for benefits such as social security, food stamps, Medicaid, and other entitlements

Supportive Communities An exciting new program to help older adults "age in place" and strengthen the neighborhoods in which they live.
