Programs
JFS programs and services are   designed to meet the needs of each member of the family, from the very young to the elderly.

From adoption to bereavement counseling, from pre-marital workshops to home care for older and disabled adults, we provide support and encouragement at every stage of life.

Jewish Family Service Mission

Jewish Family Service is dedicated to helping individuals and families cope, survive and thrive in an ever-changing world. We are focused on the needs of the Jewish community while providing services to all.

Established in 1928, JFS continues to assist people in the greater Detroit area regardless of race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.

JFS is a beneficiary agency of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit and United Way for Southeastern Michigan. Combined, the two agencies provide about 35% of our operating expenses. The remainder is provided by individual contributions, bequests, program fees, and foundation, corporate and government grants.
