

The JFS Cancer Resource Connection
The mission of the Cancer Resource Connection is to provide culturally sensitive resources for members of the Jewish and greater community who have been diagnosed with cancer.
The Cancer Resource Connection will provide the following services to the community:

1.
Mentoring program: connecting a Jewish cancer survivor with a newly
diagnosed Jewish person with cancer in a mentoring relationship. This program
will provide training for the mentors and ongoing support for the mentoring
relationship.
2. American Cancer Society Resource Center is a volunteer manned center that helps newly diagnosed cancer patients create a Personal Health Manager portfolio, specific to their diagnosis.
3. A local resource guide for cancer patients with resources for helping to cope with cancer
4. Outreach and educational programming to raise awareness of elevated risk of a cancer diagnosis within the Jewish community
5. We are a team partner in the annual W. Bloomfield Relay for Life, sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
6. We host the American Cancer Society Look Good Feel Better program, where women have an opportunity to learn specific techniques for make-up and personal appearance enhancement during chemotherapy.
