Our two core mentoring programs are:
Mentoring is easy, fun, and a rewarding way to give back to your community, all the while enriching the life of a young person.
Spending just four hours a month with a child or teen, while participating in activities that you both enjoy, is all it takes to be a good mentor.
Mentors and youth are individually matched by similar hobbies, interests, and geographic location in order to provide a foundation for a successful relationship. Mentors and mentees can participate in group activities such as sporting events, ice skating, bowling league, and Detroit Cultural Outings.
Additionally, mentors are provided support through quarterly educational trainings and ongoing communication with Mentor Connection Staff. They also receive free or discounted services to local businesses through our Community Partnership Program. In addition, mentors help youth build their futures together through college/vocational school tours, career exploration night, and life skills development. Community mentors must be 18 years and older and pass all background checks.

Community Mentee Application
Through this innovative program, youth have the opportunity to develop career and educational plans in order to determine areas of interest.
Once their potential career choices are assessed, the mentee is matched with a Career Mentor.
Do you love what you do? Here is your chance to share your passion with a young person. Career mentors must be at least 25 years of age with at least three years work experience.
This program serves Oakland County youth, ages 16-22, who can benefit from additional guidance as they determine their future career paths.
Mentors spend time with their mentee for 3 months, both socially and professionally, to offer guidance from their own personal experience.
This short-term opportunity can be extremely beneficial to help guide a young person into his or her future. Mentor Connection is in need of mentors from all walks of life, including:
• Engineers
• Nurses
• Doctors
• Chemists
• Beauticians
• Teachers
• Social Workers, etc.
