Domestic Violence Intervention
Is there something frightening going on in your home? Do you feel as though you are causing someone else’s anger?
Domestic abuse occurs in over 20% of families in our community. If you “walk on eggshells,” are afraid of what may happen next, or if you or members of your family are being criticized, threatened, or intimidated, we can help.
At JFS, our goal is to empower individuals to create safety in their interpersonal relationships. We offer counseling, education and Safe Place Shelter, in partnership with National Council of Jewish Women, a private respite for one family at a time in which to plan for the future.
We provide:
- Crisis intervention
- Individual, family and group counseling
- Safe Place shelter
- Transition planning
- Information and referral
- Access to legal and medical support
- Community education programs

JCADA
Domestic abuse in Jewish families has become a community-wide concern. JCADA (Jewish Coalition Against Domestic Abuse), started in the Metropolitan Detroit Jewish community in 2008, has the participation of over 40 community agencies and organizations.
