Adult Sexual Abuse Survivors Dealing with Chemical Dependency and Other Addictions
Thursday, April 26th from 9:00 am – 3:30 pm
Presenter: Rhonna Nelson, LMSW, DCSW, CAADC, P.C.
This course will address what Sexual Abuse is, when the Client says “no” and you suspect “yes”, Chemical Dependency and other Addictions as a coping strategy, impact on relationships, the Inner Child Concept and Treatment/Recovery.

A Mindful Approach to Pain Management
Sunday, April 29th from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Presenter: Julie Hamilton, LMSW, ACSW, CAADC
Chronic physical pain is a common experience for many individuals. Often people watch their lives become increasingly constricted when pain is ongoing. Clinicians frequently report feeling stumped as to how to assist their struggling these clients. This workshop will look at the role of mindfulness in helping these clients begin to cope with their pain in a more self-compassionate manner. Included will be a focus on the research of mindfulness practice with pain management. Participants will also have the opportunity to practice mindfulness exercises that can promote improving the vitality of life for those suffering with pain.
